Be a Destination, Not Just another Retail Location

Would you have believed ten years ago that people (me included) would pay $5.00 for a cup of fancy coffee and sit in a comfy, cozy chair to work, read, or hang-out for two hours at a coffee shop? Well – that’s destination marketing! Here are some tips to help you create a destination rather than just a location:

  • Game Nights… plan game nights for your customers – it’s a great way to get people together to try out new games that they can actually purchase immediately.
  • Create a Play Area.... The play area can be for adults and/or kids. Why not get a couple couches and a coffee table and create a FUN atmosphere to play – one of the best ways to sell is to allow your customers to sample in an inviting atmosphere.
  • Get a Popcorn Machine … Keep your guests happy by keeping their tummy happy. It’s fun and I found an Old Fashioned Movie Time Maker online for less than $200.
  • Host Birthday Parties… Become the planner for parties and charge a fee per child. You can provide activities and a small gift for everyone – once you have put together one party, it will be easy to repeat over and over again.
